Iseya is a popular yakitori place located in Kichijoji. They have two outlets, we headed for the main outlet at Gotenyama 1-2-1, Musashino-shi. It is around the same area as the Ghibli Museum, so we made a trip here after visiting the museum for some yakitori lunch. Thanks WW for intro-ing this place!

So this place specializes in yakiniku or yakitori: barbecued meats! You can't really miss the place, it is perpetually producing barbecue fumes and you can smell it as you approach the eatery.

Our meal started with the waiter's recommendation- giant Siew Mai. It is like the chinese siew mai, just bigger, meatier and chunkier.

We also ordered a couple of yakitori sticks- an assortment of leek, liver and chicken served in their teriyaki sauce. The meats were really generally well marinated, tender and flavourful. The leek was juicy, had a slight burnt taste but still very nice! They also offer an assortment of barbecue animal parts and innards, for the more daring eaters.
